OUR STORY
Upon graduating college, Derek Patry returned home to Berlin, NH to start a family. Having returned home with a Forestry degree and exposure to sugarbush operation and management, Derek was determined to tap into the Northern New Hampshire sugaring world. Starting small in 2010, he tapped a few trees in hopes to start refining a process that would lead to future growth. With help from his father, Dave, this is his 10th consecutive year making pure maple syrup. Derek's daughter, Alivia, and son, Sawyer, also help around the sugarhouse!
Patry's Sugarhouse was established over the summer months of 2012, with its first sugaring season in the spring of 2013. Currently we have around 400 taps that we collect sap from to make liquid gold every spring. We bottle our syrup in various sizes of plastic jugs and glass containers. We also welcome custom orders for events and weddings offering multiple choices for container style and size. For us, making syrup is a fun family and friend occasion. We welcome guests anytime we are making syrup. During the weekdays, we usually boil after 5 pm. On weekends, after 12 pm. During the season, check in with our facebook page for daily posts on boiling schedules and updates! We look forward to seeing you at the sugarhouse!
